Pros + Considerations of Yoni Wands + Vibrators

Why use either?

Pelvic or yoni wands and vibrators have long been used for manual massage for the pelvic floor. Using them consistently, especially if you have chronic tension or tightness that makes certain activities like sex or going to the bathroom, can help dramatically with just a few sessions a month. Of course, there are many other applications for using a tool other than your hand externally and internally, but more on that in the end!

What’s the difference between a wand and vibrator?

First, the most obvious difference is that a wand will not vibrate, and a vibrator will. What I love about vibration is that it in fact is picked up by the brain faster than pain (if you use a vibrating massage tool or foam roller on the rest of your body, you’ll know what I mean!). If initial penetration is difficult for you, I like recommending a vibrator, especially since many people already have one they might like to use externally for clitoral stimulation. But let’s break it down further.

Considerations for Vibrators

  • Soft to the touch (usually made of silicone), gentle on your bits

  • Different settings for vibes for varying sensations to explore

  • Vibration mitigates pain well, like I explained above

  • Needs a charger or battery replacements, depending on how much your’e using

  • Water-based lube-safe

  • Can usually use one end of the vibe only

Considerations for Yoni Wands

  • Made from organic material - crystals like rose quartz, quartz, aventurine, amethyst, obsidian, jade, and glass - so less chance of irritation from synthetic material

  • Energetic properties from the crystal used can be integrated into your body/energy with loving intention infused

  • Doesn’t run out of power/charge/batteries

  • Invites you to move slower with either end of the wand

  • Lube safe

  • Crystal can crack and break if dropped. Be gentle!

What they have in common

  • Both tools are shaped for easy access to externally massage without bothering your wrist

  • Both can be shaped for internal play, for paraurethral area (aka G-spot) for potential female release (💦) or cervical/deeply felt orgasms

  • Easy to clean and wash off with unscented soap and warm water (before and after use preferred for clean and happy vaginas!)
